Body found in Philippi

A man was found dead in Philippi on Saturday 28 March.

At 09:00, Philippi police received a complaint that a body was laying next to Weltevreden Road behind Cape Bricks, says Philippi police spokesperson Lieutenant Lance Goliath.

“On arrival the body of a man believed to be in his early thirties was found. The man had stab wounds to his chest and back and was declared dead on the scene,” Goliath says.

The motive for the killing is unknown.

Police are investigating a case of murder and no arrests have been made.
