Bus routes diverted

2015-04-30 14:45

The City of Cape Town will be undertaking major roadworks along Camps Bay Drive this winter. The road will be closed for general traffic, as well as for MyCiTi buses servicing routes 106 and 107, which will bring a number of route changes.

The roadworks are expected to last for at least five months.

Route 106 will operate as a circular route in Camps Bay for the most part of the day and will therefore not serve the CBD during the construction period.

Commuters wanting to travel within the Camps Bay area only are advised to take the route 106 bus.

Passengers wishing to travel to and from the CBD must change to route 107 at the Comrie stop in Geneva Drive.

Commuters wanting to travel from Camps Bay to the CBD or from the CBD to Camps Bay, are recommended to take the route 107 bus. This route will be temporarily deviated along the lower intersection of Camps Bay Drive and Geneva Drive and the upper intersection of Camps Bay Drive and Geneva Drive.

After leaving Victoria Road and the beachfront, the bus will travel up Geneva Drive, returning to the CBD via Kloof Nek Road.

To access the Lower Camps Bay, Houghton, Rontree, Fiskaal and Ravensteyn stops, commuters should transfer to route 106 at the Comrie stop along Geneva Drive.

Routes 108 and 109 from Hout Bay, Imizamo Yethu and Hangberg will not be directly affected by the roadworks, but commuters may experience some delays due to traffic congestion in Camps Bay during the peak-hour periods
