Cops arrest 2 with drugs

Mitchell’s Plain police arrested two men last week after finding drugs with them.

Officers of the crime prevention unit attended to a call about alleged drug dealing in Sharon Street, Tafelsig on Thursday afternoon last week.

On arrival they searched the premises. They arrested a 55-year-old man after 73 dagga stoppe and loose dagga stored in a bread packet were found on the roof of the house.

In an unrelated case, members of the crime prevention unit were doing stop and searches in Dassie Street, East­ridge on Wednesday evening when they spotted a man standing in front of a known drug outlet.

The officers searched the 40-year-old man and found 38 packets of tik in his possession.

Both suspects have appeared in court on drug-related charges.
