Police arrested two men in their twenties on the same day as they allegedly robbed a house in Kirstenhof.

On Thursday last week, according to Sergeant Deidre Solomon, spokesperson of Kirstenhof police station, the suspects robbed a home in Nederburg Road and threatened the domestic worker with a knife.

The suspects fled the scene on foot with cellphones and laptops to the value of R16 000. The victim was left unharmed.

All police patrol vehicles were dispatched to the area in a search for the suspects.

“The one suspect was spotted in Pollsmoor prison residential premises where he was caught and found in possession of some of the stolen items,” she says.

Further investigation led the Kirstenhof officers to Westlake where houses were searched and community members questioned. “The officers later spotted the suspect, who is known, and a chase ensued. The second suspect was caught. Both suspects are residents of Westlake.”

. Meanwhile, police also reported that a pedestrian crossing the M3 highway on Tuesday evening last week was hit by a passing car and died.

“He was declared dead on the scene by paramedics. At this stage the victim has not been identified,” Solomon says.

Police are appealing to the public to come forward if they have any information regarding the accident or the victim.

“At the time of the accident the victim was wearing blue denim jeans, a black top and camouflage peak cap. The victim is dark of complexion and could be in his early twenties,” she says.

The only item on him was a wallet with cash. He was allegedly walking from Wynberg in the direction of Muizenberg
