Eat, review to feed others

2015-05-05 06:00

A local food website and magazine is teaming up with foodies to feed needy children.

Eat Out, primarily an online guide to dining out in the country, also publishes a magazine on SA’s top 500 restaurants. It is currently fundraising in aid of Stop Hunger Now SA.

The charity aims to end hunger in the country through education and feeding schemes.

The meals provided by Stop Hunger Now SA are nutritionally balanced and the packaging makes the product safe to store.

Every time a visitor posts an online restaurant review at Eat Out, a meal is pledged to Stop Hunger Now SA. Over 1700 meals have been pledged since November, says editor Abigail Donnelly.

Now a series of dinners will take place to further raise funds.

The first of these kicked off last Thursday and was hosted by award-winning chef Reuben Riffel and Boschendal winemaker Lizelle Gerber
