Four generations to talk on Monday

2015-06-09 06:00

The Novalis Ubuntu Institute’s third intergenerational dialogues mini-conference will be held on Monday.

The theme of this year’s free conference is “Re-awakening the spirit of ubuntu across generations”. The event from 10:00 to 16:00 is open to the public.

The mini-conference is expected to include an audience of four generations of elders and youth who will exchange ideas and share their experiences. Key speakers will be Phila Nkuzo and Sandi Sajake (from the Institute), and Lilian Schulze and Mugendi M’Rithaa from the Ubuntu Academy.

Anne-Lise Bure, managing director of the Institute, says intergenerational dialogues are useful for engaging in cultural-community issues through stories.

“The dialogues are about each generation expressing itself and reaching agreements on topics where they can come closer together,” she says.

The Novalis Ubuntu Institute is a non-profit organisation in Wynberg. For more information email or call 021 797 1857
