A man was shot and killed in Bonnytoun on Saturday evening last week. His friend survived the shooting.

According to Warrant Officer Silvino Davids, spokesperson of the Wynberg police station, when police arrived on scene they found one man lying on his stomach with gunshot wounds to the chest, upper back and right arm and another man with a gunshot wound to his stomach.

“Witnesses on the scene told police there were three men who approached the victims who were sitting at a fire. The suspects came looking for a particular person,” he says.

The witnesses say an argument started and three shots were fired at the victims.

“After the shooting the suspects fled the scene on foot,” Davids says.

The wounded victim was taken to Groote Schuur hospital and the deceased taken to the Salt River mortuary.

. In a separate incident a woman’s car was stolen from outside her home in Vine Road in Wynberg on the afternoon of Saturday last week.

Davids says the woman stopped outside her house and got out of the car to open her gate. She noticed an unknown man in front of her car and then two more men appeared.

“One man had a firearm and threatened her. He jumped into the driver’s seat and drove off in the car while the other suspects ran towards Sussex Road where the suspect picked them up in the car and fled the scene,” Davids says.

The woman reported that groceries worth R700 were in the car, along with car equipment.

Davids says no arrests have been made.

. Meanwhile, a woman was robbed while walking home from work in Parish Road one afternoon.

Davids says the victim was approached by a man in a while Toyota Corolla.

“The passenger jumped out of the car and threatened her with a knife. She starting running back to her place of work, but dropped her bag in the process. The suspect took her bag and got back into the car and they fled the scene,” he says
