Gala night raises funds

2015-11-03 06:00

Investor confidence in Sea Point, Greenpoint and surrounding areas continues to grow, but maintaining the cleanliness, safety and security of these suburbs comes at a price.

Assisting in this task are the volunteer members of the Sea Point Community Police Forum (CPF), who ask the community to support this year’s gala fundraising evening to help facilitate the programmes they run.

The funds will go towards the salary of the Sea Point CPF’s fieldworker, who is employed to help relocate homeless people, itinerant people as well as youngsters on the streets due to drug and alcohol abuse. There is no national or municipal budget for this and the police are not responsible for social welfare intervention.

This year’s event will again take the form of a stage and supper extravaganza in the ballroom of the President Hotel in Bantry Bay on Thursday 12 November at 19:00.

Comedian Schalk Bezuidenhout will feature as the headline act, with music by Erez Shaked and Sea Point’s very own Caely-Jo Levy as MC.

Tickets to the event are available from CPF fundraising committee members as well as at the Sea Point City Improvement District office on the corner of Regent and Main roads (below the Sea Point fire station) and will be sold to companies, local organisations and residents.

Tickets are R600 per person, and include a welcome cocktail, a three-course dinner and coffee, spot prizes as well as entertainment.
