Homes may get fast web

The Rondebosch Community Improvement District (RCID) says the fibre survey it did earlier this year was a great success.

Over 700 residents have expressed their interest in a fibre-to-home project in their area.

Based on this high level of interest, the RCID is actively working towards making it a reality.

To ensure residents get the best fibre infrastructure and high-speed internet at competitive rates, the RCID will undertake a tender process. RCID will collate the responses from fibre providers and share the results.

Shirley Aldum from the RCID says it will give residents details on roll-out dates, prices and installation costs.

“The tender process will be transparent,” says Aldum.
