More than 200F of liquor has been confiscated during a joint operation.

On Tuesday 18 August Mitchell’s Plain police station’s Designated Liquor Officers excecuted a joint operation with Law Enforcement in Tafelsig after receiving information that liquor was being sold without a valid licence.

Officers visited a 9th Avenue house in Silver City, says police spokesperson Sergeant Jerome Voegt.

“Upon the members arrival at the scene they discovered 282,57F of liquor hidden inside the premises. The suspect – a 60-year-old man – was arrested,” he says.

The man has since appeared in court.

In an unrelated incident the Mitchell’s Plain Tactical Response Team arrested a 26-year-old for possession of drugs in Eastridge.

The man was found with a large qauntity of mandrax with a street value of R7 750.

“On Wednesday at 13:45 the memebers were doing a routine vehicle patrol in Zebra Street when they spotted a suspiciuos looking man in the street.

“When the suspect noticed the officers approaching, he ran down the street. Officers gave chase on foot and caught the man,” says Voegt.
