2015-05-05 06:00

Mr O’s Motor Spares in Mitchell’s Plain is well-known for its comprehensive range of engine parts.

They have now expanded their range to cater for their customers’ growing needs. The new motorsport range is growing all the time and consists of vehicle accessories and car audio.

Mr O’s workshop, in conjuction with Jap Motion Car Club, will be collecting donations on Saturday for the Beacon School for Learners with Special Education Needs in Westridge. They are in need of simple goodies such as toothpaste, soap, lotion, shampoo and toilet paper. Please drop-off your donations.

Mr O’s Motor Spares wishes all their clients a great Easter and says before hitting the road for your Easter break, remember the following:

. Tyres: Check air pressure of your tyres, including the spare.

. Batteries: Weak batteries can lead to breakdowns.

. Brakes: An inspection can determine whether brakes are functioning properly with full braking capability.

. Windshield wipers: Old or worn windshield wipers can lead to poor visibility.

. Headlamps: Properly aimed headlamps are a must for optimal visibility, fitting Xenon Headlight Bulbs will improve your visibility as they are 50% brighter than standard lights.

. Oil: Change oil and filter at recommended intervals to minimise engine wear and reduce the possibility of internal damage.

. Fluid levels: Improper fluid levels (coolant, oil, power steering, transmission, brake fluid and even washer solvent) can negatively affect vehicle performance.

. Belts and hoses: A broken belt or ruptured hose can cause costly engine damage.

. Ensure all weekly checks recommended in the owner’s handbook have been performed and obey road signs. –
