A 43-year-old man was killed in a shooting on Thursday last week.

The man was at home when he was allegedly called outside at about 19:30, says Manenberg police spokesperson Lieutenant Ian Bennett.

“An eyewitness says the victim was called outside in Manenberg Avenue by three men on bicycles. He went outside to see who it was. Then gunshots were heard and they found the victim on the ground with a gunshot wound to the chest,” he says.

Family members rushed the man to hospital where he died of his injuries.

The perpetrators fled on their bicycles in an unknown direction. No arrests have been made and the motive for the murder is yet to be determined.

A case of murder has been opened for further investigation.
