Two people died in a suspected murder-suicide in Southfield on Saturday.

It is alleged that a man shot and killed his girlfriend with his licensed firearm, before turning the gun on himself.

A 50-year-old man arrived at the Prince Henry Crescent home of his 52-year-old ex-girlfriend at noon, says Diep River police spokesperson Warrant Officer Keith Chandler.

“(The couple) had been in a relationship for 17 years (and) they recently broke up their relationship,” he says.
