Musical stories at Baxter

The eight instalment of the Cape Town Folk ’n Acoustic Music Festival is on at the Baxter Concert Hall on Friday and Saturday.

This year, they organisers have decided to bring together musicians who haven’t been part of any of the previous festivals.

Presented by Real Wired Music and Polo Jeans Company the festival will give music lovers a chance to experience some of the country’s finest musical storytelling, mixing everything from folk and country to boeremusiek and Cape jazz.

Friday night will see David Kramer share the stage with Valiant Swart, Macstanley, BlackByrd, Tailor, Medicine Boy, Donovan Copley from Hotwater, Andra, Wren Hinds, Faye Oakes, Roger Lucey, Bill Knight Fruit Vendor, Chris Verge and Jasmine Minter.

David, Tailor, Valiant, Donovan, BlackByrd and Macstanley will be on stage again on Saturday, this time with Nicky Shrire, Ariella Caira, Rocking Horse, Andra, Timothy Hutchinson, Jonno Grayson, Basson Laubscher, Tony Cedras and Dave Reynolds.


Tickets for the festival cost between R175 and R195 per night and are available from Computicket
