Now you can Bike the Daisies

2015-06-30 06:00

Music lovers with an appetite for a weekend dose of music with a healthy portion of sustainability on the side can apply to walk or cycle to this year’s Rocking the Daisies.

Both Walking the Daisies and Cycling the Daisies are initiatives that encourage festivalgoers to celebrate music whilst reducing their environmental footprint.

Walking the Daisies, a two-day guided hike that starts in Cape Town on 30 September and ends on arrival at the festival in Darling, has evolved from 20 walkers in 2009 to 200 walkers last year.

The walk enhances the festival’s aim to create and promote positive environmental action and be a part of creating an eco-friendly Rocking the Daisies festival.

The walk is catered and luggage will be transported. Tented accommodation is provided.

The selection criteria for applications will be based on various aspects, ranging from fitness and previous experience to any special skills that will add value to fellow walkers.

Cycling the Daisies was developed off the back of Walking the Daisies and is a one-day cycling trip that starts in Cape Town on 2 October and ends at the festival grounds in Darling the same day.V

Visit before 10 September for more information about the festival and Walking the Daisies and Cycling the Daisies application forms
