Open up if you’ve lost some

2015-09-29 06:00

Have you recently lost your home to a scam? Are you due money and have not received it?

Residents who have been affected are urged to come forward with their stories.

In one such example a woman signed an agreement after receiving an auction notice for her home last year. Her debt had been paid and the auction was stopped. Her house was then sold, but she never received any proceeds as promised. She is owed more than R100 000.

The deal was that she would receive half of the proceeds of the sale but has been left penniless and in bad health.

Some residents suspect a con artist has been working in several areas for the past three years.

The person/people are said to approach vulnerable women in the Western Cape and apparently charms them into a deal.
