Parents should become cyber savvy

With the school holidays in full swing, I appeal to parents to familiarise themselves with the various social media networks that their children use, to help keep them safe from online predators.

Each social media platform has unique risks and many children don’t realise the dangers.

They underestimate how easily accessible their information is and forget that others are watching their online activity. Talk to your children about the dangers of social media.

Social media can be a wonderful tool, but we need to keep a close eye on its usage in order to keep our children safe
