Police clean up on liqour

During the last week Hout Bay police have made three arrests in liquor related incidents.

A further five arrests were made for theft.

Warant officer Tanya Lesch says three arrests were made for dangerous weapons and screwdriver, two knives, one okapi knife, a spade, and two scissors were confiscated.

“The community confiscated the following items, but no arrests were made the items include a hammer, iron rod spear, two golf sticks, a butcher’s implement, a panga, a hockey stick, 14 bread knives, half a scissors, two flares, a small pocket knife, and axe and two screw drivers,” she says.

A further 15 arrests were made for possession of drugs and police confiscated a bag of dagga, a dagga cigarette, one crushed mandrax tablet, three bankies of dagga, bottle neck with dagga and 19 “stoppe” of dagga.

Lesch says another arrest was made where mandrax powder, one stop dagga and a wooden dagga pipe were also confiscated.

Meanwhile on Wednesday 12 August at 21:00 one structure in Imizamo Yethu burnt down.

“The fire department and police attended to the scene and it was reported that no foul play was suspected,” she says.

Lesch adds that three bodies were discovered inside the structure and an inquest docket was opened, however ,the bodies have not been identified
