Lentegeur police are asking for the community’s help in finding a suspect following the murder of one man and attempted murder of another earlier this month.

Police were called to the scene of a shooting on Friday night 4 September, says spokesperson Sergeant Cathy Meyer.

“We received reports of a shooting incident that occurred in Blombos Street,” says Meyer.

At the scene police found a 41-year-old deceased man who had sustained multiple shots to his upper body.

They also found a 40-year-old man who had been stabbed in the shoulder. The knife victim was taken to hospital and treated for his stab wound.

Police are now investigating a murder and attempted murder case. No arrests have yet been made.

“The description given is that the suspect – a man – is tall and light of complexion. He was wearing a white jacket, dark track suit pants and a white cap.”
