Pub row ends in shots

2015-09-29 06:00

Two visitors to a pub in Plumstead were shot and injured after an argument between one of the victims and another patron.

Warrant officer Keith Chandler, spokesperson of Diep River police, says two Grassy Park residents argued at Gonzos pub on Sunday at 03:15.

One pulled out a small pistol and fired three shots.

“One shot ricocheted and hit a bystander in the arm whilst the other two hit the intended victim in the stomach,” he says.

Both injured pubgoers were taken to Victoria Hospital by friends.

“Police were on the scene with detectives and forensics and a case of attempted murder was opened,” he says.

If anyone has information about the incident contact detective Warrant Officer Steven Young on 021 710 7340.
