Skills programme to be launched for youth

A new youth programme is set to help about 400 young Capetonians.

Provincial minister of social development, Albert Fritz, will be launching the skills transfer programme at Vangate Mall on Monday next week.

The programme offers a customised package of skills development workshops for youth who are not educated, employed, skilled or trained, and will benefit 390 young people.

The programme is the end-result of a province-wide youth outreach initiative conducted over seven months, which consulted young people.

Thirteen youth coordinators were also identified during this process and they will also be present at the launch
