A security guard was tied up and gagged while three men robbed the construction site at BP garage in Plumstead.

Warrant officer Keith Chandler, spokesperson of Diep River police station, says a white bakkie pulled up to the premises on Thursday 1 October at 17:15 and three men, all wearing overalls, asked to see the log sheets.

“When the guard turned to open the container he was overpowered by his three attackers, who tied him up with tape and cable ties,” Chandler says.

The robbers stole generators, compactors and other power tools.

The guard, who was unhurt, was discovered more than an hour later and freed.

No weapons were used.
