Three of the world’s top internationally-renowned magicians will bring their unbelievable feats to GrandWest’s Roxy Revue Bar this weekend.

Hosted by the College of Magic, the Mother City’s only magical arts organisation, the International Stars of Magic show brings Guy Hollingworth, Paul Wilson and Johan Ståhl to the stage as part of this year’s South African magic championships, a triennial event held to select the best magician in the country.

Local magic fans will be able to enjoy the ultimate magic convention during this three-day fest, with a series of contests, demonstrations, panel discussions and more.

Known as the Prestidigitator, Guy was named the 2009 Magician of the Year by the Academy of Magical Arts in Hollywood while deceptionist Paul, also from the UK, is considered the world’s foremost expert on cons and scams as the star of BBC’s The Real Hustle.

Swedish deceptionist Johan is a two-time world champion. Having performed all over the world, Ståhl now shares his knowledge as the founder and course director of university courses in magic in Sweden.

The three will be joined by Fritz “With a Z” Alkemade. Hailed as the Netherland's hottest magician, Fritz is an expert at impromptu magic.

Young magic fans will also be entertained with the Children’s Magic Spectacular at the Roxy Revue Bar on Saturday at 10:00 where South Africa’s top children’s entertainers will perform illusions and magic.

The International Stars of Magic show runs at GrandWest’s Roxy Revue Bar from Friday to Sunday at 20:00. Tickets cost R190 from Computicket. For more information about this year’s South African championships of magic, call the College of Magic on 021 683 5480 or visit www.samagic2015.
