Muizenberg’s Masque Theatre will be staging House guest from Friday.

Written by well-known mystery playwright and novelist Francis Durbridge, this play is full of twists and turns that will keep audiences guessing.

The story revolves around Robert and Stella Drury, both well-known actors in London. The couple is horrified to learn that their young son has been kidnapped, not for ransom, but so that the kidnappers can stay in their home for 48 hours.

Twist follows twist until the highly exciting and ingenious denouement.

Sue Bolton, who brought us Handful of friends in 2013 and Separate tables in 2011, directs a cast headed up by Erica Schofield and Nigel Stevenson, who was seen in the title role in Inspector Drake and the black widow last year.

The cast also includes Erika Marais, who entertained at the Valentine’s soiree earlier this year and expertly created the many female personas in Inspector Drake and the black widow.

Also starring is Gary Green who has appeared in the hit US show Homeland and was last on the Masque Theatre stage in California suite.

Presented by the Fish Hoek Dramatic Society, House guest runs Thursdays to Saturdays from Friday until Saturday 2 May.
