And so another year comes to an end.

As always, it has been a year of trials and triumphs, tribulations and victories, but most of all it was another year of grace for all of us reading this.

We made it, the end of yet another year.

We have partnered with several events and initiatives and shared the news, both happy and sad.

As always we have brought you all the local news you love to read and some of the things you needed to read.

It was a great year for the People’s Post team – with two national awards for the editorial team, a third place for the front pages and several other finalists nominations, we continue to serve award-winning content.

From tragic murders and court cases to rising petrol prices, increased and then decreased water restrictions, and then the dreaded return of load shedding, we have covered it all and have laughed, cried, felt and accepted it all along with all of you.

Despite it all, we have conquered, Cape Town and I am sure we will continue to do so, and more in 2019.

This will be our last edition for 2018, and while we all take leave from our offices to enjoy a short break with our families, we will return to bring you your local news with our first edition on Tuesday 15 January.

People’s Post, your partner in community news, bids all readers celebrating, a blessed Christmas, and to all others a safe festive season and a prosperous entry into the new year.
