Ladies, gather your friends, flaunt your best frock and join People’s Post for a morning of fun, fashion, beauty and tea in aid of the LifeMatters Foundation during International Literacy Month this April.

The “Perfectly Posh High Tea Party”, presented in partnership with Spec-Savers, aims to raise awareness and much needed books for LifeMatters Foundation.

Charity

The LifeMatters Foundation runs literacy and numeracy programmes for disadvantaged and at-risk primary school learners.

It also provides counselling for those in need of psycho-social support, and life skills and mentorship for older learners to support them with the challenges experienced in their communities where drug and alcohol abuse, teenage pregnancy, gangsterism and high school drop-out rates dominate everyday life.

Fun, fashion, beauty

To add some glamour and fun, the morning will take a fashion and beauty focus all while guests indulge in a delicious high tea.

Get your make-up touched up by Cosmetix or enjoy a shoulder rub, while sipping on a welcome glass of bubbly.

During the event, local designers Bridget Pickering and Ludwig Bausch of Ruff Tung – a women’s wear brand that offers classic with a contemporary twist designed to celebrate and reflect authentic women – and Danielle Margaux – wedding, bespoke and evening garments designer and also one of the Miss SA designers – will show off some of their latest designs.

Keep an eye on People’s Post’s Facebook page or next week’s edition as we announce more amazing speakers for the event.

#Bringabook and win

Each lady attending the event is encouraged to bring an age-appropriate new or second-hand (in good condition) book – ages 8 to 10 – to aid LifeMatters Foundation in its literacy programmes.

Each book will give you an entry into our lucky draws. Amazing prizes are up for grabs – including designer shades sponsored by Spec-Savers, L.O.V hampers sponsored by Cosmetix, a Ruff Tung garment valued at R1200, a custom crisp white shirt and a consultation valued at R2500 by Danielle Margaux, a Sport Science Institute gym vouchers, a Cocoafair hamper of bespoke chocolates, and more.
