Grassy Park police have found tik and mandrax with an estimated street value of R35 000 during patrols.

According to a police report, the drugs were found abandoned in Ottery on Tuesday.

Provincial police spokesperson Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana says the officers along with new constables were conducting crime prevention duties in the Ottery flats area at 14:00.

"While busy searching between the dirt they found two packets containing tik and two packets containing a large quantity of mandrax tablets. Drugs are valued at R35 000. Police management commend the officers for keeping drugs off the streets this festive season," she says.
