Abuse against women must stop

2015-12-08 06:00

Women must talk to other women about abuse they are experiencing. They should not be ashamed as they are the victims.

They will never know where to get help of they do not open up. If they are threatened with being killed by their partners, they should not ignore it – they must go to their nearest police station and lay a charge against their partners.

If their partner has a gun then the police have to take the gun from them if it is the law. Then only must they get a protection order against their partner or abuser.

The tragic killings of innocent partners must stop.

Help can be provided to both the abuser and the victim.

Why must we live in fear every day that we might be the next victim because the abuser does not want to accept he has a problem?

I would like to start a project with the education department along with the department of community safety to educate the pupils in high schools about this epidemic we have here in the Western Cape.
