Amazing Galaxy Warriors (AGW) is celebrating its 21st anniversary on Sunday by hosting their annual Women’s Day touch rugby tournament at Green Point track from 08:00 to 14:00.

“This year we will also celebrate our 21st anniversary. We will also introduce the Tohier ‘Peanut’ Williams Trophy which teams will compete for,” says Nadeema Levy, an executive committee member of the club.

This trophy honours Tohier Williams, a valued member of the club who played provincial touch rugby and represented their region in touch nationals as a junior at the Western Cape Touch Association. He was captain of the club’s u.17 team and later went on to captain their u.19 gold winning team. “He was lost to us in the escalating gang violence on the Cape Flats on his way to a touch tournament in December 2013. This trophy is to honour his life and contribution to our sport,” concludes Levy.
