As a result of growing interest in the 2018 Youth Cup, an additional round of competition has been added to determine the 20 teams who will join the 12 cedar teams as part of the tournament later this year.

Host team Bayview FC held a play-off draw at the Strandfontein Community Hall on Wednesday last week ahead of the play-offs taking place this week.

From Friday 27 April to Sunday 29 April and on Tuesday 1 May, around 50 teams will go head to head to see who will compete in the tournament, set to take place over the Youth Day weekend in June.

The 12 cedar teams are previous winners Trinitarians, two teams from Bayview FC, Ikapa, Rockafellas, Strandfontein, Ulana, Vasco, Jomos Power, FN Rangers, Greenwood and PPG Langa.

The play-offs will be held at the Langa Soccer Field

from 10:00 on Friday, Sunday and Tuesday and 09:00 on Saturday­.

Entry to the venue is R5 for cars and R5 for players and spectators over 12 years old.
