Children from Strandfontein, Mitchell’s Plain, and surrounding areas will once again be able to enjoy a jam-packed day filled with water and beach activities at Strandfontein Pavilion on Wednesday 11 December. The free event is open to children who live near the beach, but don’t always have the opportunity to enjoy all that the False Bay coastline can offer. Activities like kayaking, surfing, beach soccer, volleyball, and much more will be available. Food and drinks will also be on offer. The second Aqua Day for the year is hosted by Strandfontein MFMC (Municipal Facilities Management Committee) and the 9Miles Project, in partnership with the City of Cape Town. The last Aqua Day that was hosted at the pavilion took place in March this year and saw more than 300 people visit the beach to enjoy the range of activities. All activities will be expertly supervised and children must bring along their swimming costumes, towel, a bottle of water, sun hat, and sunblock. Pre-registration is advised and can take place via Whatsapp. The event runs from 9:00 until 15:00. Bus transport will also run from 7:00 through Mitchell’s Plain, Bayview, Strandfontein and Pelican Park.
