Athlone dance groups and companies will be on stage at the 12th annual Baxter Dance Festival this week.

Fourteen dance works of different lengths and styles, by various choreographers, from groups, studios and crews in the Athlone area, will be at the festival until Saturday.

There will be seven works by the EOAN Group by choreographers Abeedah Medell, Ebrahim Medell, Mishkaah Medell, Leticia Fisher, Natasha Rhoda and Lucille Hendricks, four from Dance for All with choreography by Phyllis Spira, Lutho Zwedala, Hope Nongqongqo and Lorraine Ndindwa and Bruno Wani, two by the Alexander Sinton School of Focused Art choreographed by Anastasia Arendse and Kyle Grant, and one each by Own Reflection Dance Company (with choreography by Kyle Stuurman and Graham Adams) and Taare (with choreography by Aneesh Valodia).

These choreographers will join other independent dance-makers, choreographers, dancers and teachers, who will take to the Baxter stage to present a diverse and dynamic line-up, made to suit all tastes and range from contemporary, modern and classical to traditional dance forms.
