GrandWest’s Grand Arena will be the first stop for Aussie – The Australian Circus Spectacular as it tours South Africa.

The talented, daring and slightly insane performers will dazzle local audiences with unbelievable feats in Cape Town from Friday 12 to Sunday 14 February.

Aussie is a modern and exclusively human, feel-good circus spectacular that blends cirque-style acrobatics, hilarious vaudevillian antics and extreme, high-octane stunts. The executive producer of the show is Cape Town-born Sebastian Cassie, who returns to the Mother City for the first time since he was a young boy. This is also the first time that Aussie – The Australian Circus Spectacular has visited foreign soil.

Highlights of the show include one of the world’s few surviving human cannon ball acts, performed by an expert stuntman, Luiz Daza.

Then there’s the dizzying “globe of death” act which features up to five motorbike riders circling a daring dancer with Mad Max-style bravado before the sphere splits in half, and thrilling freestyle motocross stunts during which riders reach gut-wrenching heights.

There is also the “queen of the silks”, a vaudevillian performer and slapstick comedian, the illusion of a salsa-dancing quick-change act and a duo pole performance. Audiences can look forward to feats of human endurance, skill and strength.Tickets are available at Computicket. Visit www.aussiecircus. for more.
