An abandoned baby was found alive by police from Lansdowne on Monday morning.

The boy was discovered in St Joseph Road at about 07:00.

Sergeant Nkululeko Mnyaka of Lansdowne Police Station says: “The baby was discovered in the Groenvlei area. At this stage we don’t know the circumstances of the baby.

“We await the ambulance and social workers for necessary processes.”

V Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the baby’s parents should call Lansdowne Police Station on 021 700 9045.
