Bad timing leads to jail

2016-10-25 06:00

A man has been arrested for perjury after allegedly lying about the facts of a business robbery.

The man reported a business robbery occuring on Sunday 11 September at 03:00, says Sea Point police spokesperson Captain Elizabeth Munro.

“Detective Sergeant Lee Williams received video footage from the owner. The video footage showed that the robbery happened at 10:00 and not at 03:00,” she says.

After questioning him, the man admitted to lying under oath, Munro says.

He was arrested on Monday 17 October.
