Beach huts vandalised under their noses

2017-08-08 06:02

There is such a buzz on social media and on radio regarding the removal of these Muizenberg beach icons. The reason being vandalism and criminal activities taking place in them.

The huts in question are those on the east beach towards the river – right under the Law Enforcement office. So why are these criminals not being dealt with? Just because of some law breakers we must loose such an icon – a famous tourist attraction?

I do, however, realise that it costs the City money to maintain them. Surely renting them out as change rooms or mini-shops should be looked into. Possibly the surf schools could also use them.

The public outcry must be heard.
