Three bicycles have been stolen in Rosebank in the past two weeks and police do not have a lead yet.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Lyndon Sisam says Rondebosch police are investigating cases of theft after bicycles went missing in different scenarios in the past two weeks.

He says anyone with information on the whereabouts of the bicycles or any information about the theft should contact the detectives.

“On Tuesday 18 April at 18:00 the complainant secured her black and blue bicycle against a pole in Rosebank Main Road. The next day at 09:50 she noticed that her bicycle had been stolen.

“On Wednesday 19 April at 08:00 [another] complainant secured her BMX bicycle against a tree in Chapel Road in Rosebank. When she returned at 17:30 the same day the bike was gone. It is a military green bicycle with bright yellow tyres, chrome handle bars and purple peddles with lightning bolt stickers on the front,” explains Sisam.

He urges members of the public to tell the police when they suspect to have seen any of the bicycles. Sisam also advised riders to be cautious where they leave their bikes and to avoid leaving them unattended for many hours.
