Are you ready for the pickled fish run?

The Ottery Boyz MCC is planning its fifth annual run when bikers from different clubs will make and serve pickled fish with buttered bread to underprivileged residents of the Cape Flats.

Club president Morne Blake explains that their aims are also to give children marshmallow Easter eggs.

“Traditionally this event takes place on Good Friday,” he says.

“The pickled fish run forms up in convoy formation with bakkies loaded with pickled fish, bread and Easter eggs and a large contingent of bikes from different clubs then lead the convoy to identified areas where these same bikers and other volunteers serve the pickled fish.”

Blake adds that this year they want to go bigger but they need help to serve more people.

“To make this event possible and to reach as many people as we can, we are asking for donations of bread or rolls, butter, fish, fish oil, flour, vinegar, cooldrinks, Easter eggs and any financial assistance.”
