Motorist and business owners in and around Flamingo Crescent in Lansdowne had to take alternative routes last week when a drain blockage caused major floods in the busy industrial area.

Ward councillor Mark Kleinschmidt says: “This issue was reported to the City of Cape Town Athlone District Office head of roads, Grant Rigby, who has inspected rhetoric road drainage and will be auctioning remedial measures to prevent a recurrence. The residents have been requested to refrain from placing objects in the gutters which causes the blocked drains, and subsequent flooding.”
