Be prepared to be blown away by books at the annual book festival at local libraries.

The Blown Away by Books festival will take place from Wednesday 22 to Saturday 25 March.

Now in its third year, the festival, hosted by Fish Hoek, Masiphumelele and Ocean View libraries, aims to showcase world-class local authors, pay tribute to the art of writing, promote reading and celebrate National Library Week.

This year’s line-up boasts more than twenty authors.

Some of the festival highlights include a Crime and Wine evening on Wednesday 22 March, with crime writers Sam Wilson, Karin Brynard and Sally Andrew interviewed by Mike Nicol.

On the same day, Xolisa Tshongolo will be talking about his novels at Masiphumelele Library at 15:00.

Pippa Green will talk with Marianne Thamm and Philippa Kabali-Kagwa about writing a memoir at Fish Hoek Library on Friday 24 March.

On the Friday, graphic artist Andy Mason will be holding a free workshop in Ocean View at 15:00. Seats are limited.

A book dash story time session will be held in Fish Hoek on Saturday 25 March. In the evening Melanie Verwoerd will be talking to Helen Zille about her autobiography Not without a fight.
