Chimnese Davids from Grassy Park not only initiated the hygiene project at primary schools in Steenberg, Hanover Park and Mitchell’s Plain but is also the author of three books.“I founded Kreativ SA, a personal initiative to develop and enhance individual and community projects and publications, in order to build a healthy society. The publications are based on compassion and self-expression, leading to healing of the individual and the community,” she says. Her three books are Muses of Wandering Passions, No Greater Love Than This and Redeeming Soul. In Redeeming Soul she encourages victims of child abuse to break the silence and to tell their own stories. The publications brought about greater awareness, disclosure, notification and treatment, forgiveness and healing.“My initiative encourages any verbalisation and closure necessary for emotional and spiritual healing. This is necessary, especially in the case of sexual abusive acts against children, that were never reported or addressed. It is a brave deed to put pen to paper having suffered sexual, emotional and physical abuse since childhood and as a young adult,” she says. Here are the synopses of each of her books: Muses of Wandering Passions (published 2012) – This book is the very definition of sadness and of loss. Its undiluted mourning grips the reader: within the starkness, the sincerity of recollections in fairness to the one causing the broken heart, is touching. The book contains the pensive reflections on a life that passed, but also the effects of it in the now. It brings a test of ability to those in need; a showdown. The reader is gently guided to assess their own love. It is often better to look at the self through the eyes of others.Even though one cannot calculate happiness, the lessons that arise from reading this book are that eternal love cannot be neutralized by separation; and the broken heart is not powerless. The end of the road brings options; one cannot fight reality; leaving does not necessarily mean stop loving; separation does not imply forgetting; mourning is not necessarily not forgiving. The forgiving heart may mourn; but even more, must mourn, in order to heal finally. Only then the spirit may grow beyond that which seemed to be so devastating and destructive. It is often so that the heart in mourning is taught to feel all emotions, in order to really understand and relate to the sorrow of others. In fact, this is crucial for anyone in any relationship. No Greater Love Than This (2015) – Davids outlines a spiritual path that is remarkable in its simplicity, its wonderment and in its realness. Only those truly touched by the grace of God can relate to the love and passion she portrays in this collection of poetry. The reader, still looking for answers may find it within these seven sections, deeply accumulative in intensity. The answers come when one least expects them: one may miss the whispers of God, for it is within a fraction of a moment in time that a completely new life may be reborn. Yet, even within this significant recognition, we still know that the Holy Spirit inspires even our choices and our most efforts. To be aware of the suffering and affliction of self and of other souls is to love the self and others as God intended us to do. Davids found within her love for poetry the inspirational presence of the Creator. She dances before Him in adoration and in devotion. Within Jesus Christ, she discovered the metamorphosis from wretchedness to happiness, inner growth, and eternal beauty.Redeeming Soul (2018 and new release this year) – Davids went through several stages of spiritual growth during the past decade. She documented her discoveries and progress in the two earlier publications and in them she reflected upon her relationship with God, self and loved ones on this journey called life. This book embodies the solemn tone, the same serious and eager yearning to get to the bottom of that which kept her from reaching her full potential as a family member, member of society and as a spiritual being. In starkness and objectivity, but not without emotional indulgence and recognition of own shortcomings and pain, Davids lifts the curtain upon a silent and secretive life – a life that slowly but surely devoured her soul, turning her into a fearful human being, stripping her of her femininity and self-worth. The author sheds all masks and opens her heart to the reader, in order to share the miraculous purification of the Holy Spirit and divine intervention that prepared her to write this book. The content and sentiments of Redeeming Soul are entirely that of the author, as inspired by the Spirit.Contact her on 061 650 9202 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to order.
