About 100 pupils at AZ Berman Primary received a pair of brand new shoes as part of an annual donation drive.

Yesterday (9 May) the Shekinah Full Gospel Church in Beacon Valley handed out the school shoes, to children identified by the school, according to sizes collected says Pastor Dean Carelse.

“This is an annual initiative done in the second term. Members of the church participate and those in the church who need shoes, we help, but majority of the shoes sourced are donated,” says Carelse.

The shoes vary in sizes and are donated to a school chosen by the church.

Carelse explains AZ Berman Primary was chosen because they want to make a difference at the schools surrounding the church.

Church elder Thomas Porthen says this is the third year of the initiative.

“We visited Alpine Primary and Beacon View Primary before AZ Berman,” he says.

School principal Mervin Stoffberg thanked the church for their partnership and generosity.

V If you want to donate school shoes to the annual initiative call the church office on 021 376 1281 or Porthen on 082 777 7607.
