In a call to action, a group of Mitchell’s Plain residents are calling for the reinstatement of Brigadier Cass Goolam, who was suspended as Mitchell’s Plain Police Station commander.

The “Bring Goolam Back” committee met to discuss plans to ensure the reputation of Brigadier Cass Goolam is restored.

The committee was established on Saturday 7 October and held their first demonstration on Saturday last week.

The carcade saw 15 cars supporting the initiative. Residents were asked to take along a South African flag and demonstrate calling for Goolam’s return.

Follow-up sessions will be held everyday this week, continuing today to Friday from 08:30 to 18:30.

The group will be outside the Mitchell’s Plain Police Station during this time.

Elected to serve on the committee is Doctor Randall Petersen as chairperson, Reverend Henry Bothman as deputy chairman, Joanie Fredericks as administrator, Warda Cay as secretary and Pastor Ashley Potts as spokesperson.
