Car break in foiled

2019-01-22 06:00

Two men suspected of attempting to break into parked vehicles were arrested in two separate incidents in Tamboerskloof, on Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 January in Hastings Road and Military Road respectively.

“We work closely with the local community security information network, WatchCom. Their camera operators alerted one of our armed response officers of both the suspects who appeared to be trying to break into parked cars. It shows the value of strategically placed cameras as a way of improving security,” says Jade Hanning, Cape Town South district manager at Fidelity ADT.

“In both incidents, our officer was able to locate the suspects and apprehend them. Both were handed over into the custody of Cape Town Police Station,” says Hanning.

“If any resident of Tamboerskloof notices anything suspicious in their neighbourhood, I urge them to make contact with the WatchCom team to make sure the appropriate security response is deployed.”
