A local granny has celebrated her 100th birthday and she shares it with a very special South Afican.

Christine Ludgodlo shares a birthday with Nelson Mandela, born 18 July 1918 and is a resident at the Beaconvale Community Frailcare Centre in Beacon Valley.

This is also the first time the centre has a resident turn 100 while in their care.

More than 300 people attended her birthday celebration, including the Local Lions Club.

Ludgodlo is the oldest resident at the centre and has been there for the past two years.
