About 200 women are expected to be part of an informative Women’s Month Celebration that will be held at Tsiba Arena in Pinelands on Wednesday 16 August. The event is organised by student-led organisations at Tsiba Education, the Family Vibes in partnership with Tsiba Student Representative Council. The event is aimed at commemorating the role played by veteran women in the struggle during the apartheid years. It will also emphasise the importance of values and morals of an independent woman in the society through creating a new environment for women engagements by organising informative events where women gain a platform to empower each other.Simiso Manatha, from Family Vibes, says: “Our sole purpose is to bring a new dynamic way of creating value in and around South African and we do this through events. “This event will be inspiring, informing and engaging women on topics of life, work and sexuality. We also believe that this event is of utmost importance as this is an institution which was formed by women. “This event also seeks to appreciate women, embrace their femininity and encourage them to stand firm, walk tall and continue to ignite opportunity. We are not a club, but a group of students with a business vision that creates love, loyalty and success.”A student at the institution, Ziyeka Notolwana, says the celebration is more than just a day. She says it is about celebrating the role played by women and is important for those in campus as they have also dealt with different struggles in their societies. “We are women coming from different backgrounds, who have struggled in life and need inspiration and encouragement to succeed,” says Notolwana.Adri Marais, the CEO of Tsiba, is expected to open the session followed by two influential women from the institution – Yanda Nako and Noxolo Mapoma – as well as the Women’s Cape Town Network Plus’ Elona Hlatshwayo.
