Child safety talks for educare kids

2017-06-06 06:00

Steers Educare hosted a Child Protection Week initiative at the Blomvlei community centre on Tuesday last week to educate the children and parents of two local early childhood development centres.

The theme of the event to promote child safety was “Your child is my child”.

The children from Steers and Our Lady of the Rosary educares in Hanover Park attended.

Speakers from the local police station, Rape Crisis, Moms for Justice and the educares interacted with the children and parents.

One of the speakers, Constable Thembelani Mnyaluza of Philippi Police Station, urged the parents to listen to their children and reminded them that there was no waiting time to report a missing child.

The group prayed for the safety of children and the reduction of crime in the area.
