Clinic ready for health event

2019-06-11 06:00

The Lansdowne Baby Clinic invites residents and children who go to schools in the area to attend an edutainment youth event to be hosted on Thursday.

The annual event which was launched last year is organised by staff members at the clinic. The aim of the event is to provide a platform for young people between the ages of 15 to 24 where they can learn about various health issues and have fun simultaneously.

There will be different stakeholders and professionals who will be giving expert advice on a number of health issues. Police officers, day hospital staff members and social workers will also attend.

Ward 60 councillor Mark Kleinschmidt praised the clinic for organising such an event saying it is a good initiative and he hopes the event would uplift the youngsters in the area.

“I will be there to offer a motivational talk to children from the disadvantaged areas and donate some refreshments,” he said.

The event will take place at the Lansdowne Civic Centre, and will start at 11:30 and end at 14:00.
