Staff members at a local Pep store in Pelican Park went into panic after being robbed by four suspects who made off with cash on Monday afternoon. According to reports, shortly after 12:00 three suspects made their way into the store posing as customers, while the fourth suspect waited outside.

The suspects are known to have entered through the main entrance, with one pretending to buy airtime while another browsed through the store.

The third suspect went behind the counter with a gun and demanded cash from the worker on duty.

Warrant Officer Wynita Kleinsmith from Grassy Park Police Station says no injuries were sustained and no arrests have yet been made. A case of business robbery is under investigation.

Mariki Schwiebus, communications manager for Pep Stores, says only a small amount of cash was taken from the store and staff members are currently receiving counselling.

V Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Grassy Park Police Station on 021 700 3900.
