The Kenilworth-based CoolPlay non-profit organisation invites its supporters to a comedy evening at Rondebosch Boys’ High School on Wednesday 24 April.

The event is hosted in an attempt to raise funds to boost their organisation’s youth empowerment programmes, focused on school children.

The organisation has been in existence since 2010 and its programmes offer life skills through sport and a unique social and emotional learning curriculum.

They hope to raise R100 000 with the comedy evening.

Guests are promised a night of entertainment with performances from Dalin Oliver, KG, Godfrey Johnson and other comedians.

Award-winning Angel Campey will be the master of ceremonies (MC) and there will be familiar sporting heroes.

According to one of the organisers, Johan Schlebusch, primary school children must attend with a parent or guardian.

“The comedians are fully aware that there will be children in the audience.”

Schlebusch, says the evening will not just be about the fund-raiser but also an opportunity to celebrate how far CoolPlay has come.

“Your support will help us continue to have an impact on the communities that we work in. This will be used to help consolidate our programmes in Khayelitsha and Stellenbosch and expand our gender equity initiatives,” he says.

Schlebusch says CoolPlay has expanded and now has a partner in Koue Bokkeveld and Eastern Cape.V Tickets are available at and for more information visit
